2013 Italian Sports Sedan
Some vehicles make an entrance. Others make a statement.
For me, Maserati has always represented the latter.
I remember seeing my first one on the streets of the Bronx during an era when luxury foreigns already carried serious presence. But seeing a Maserati among them was different — it was unexpected, distinctive, and definitely wasn’t half-steppin’ when it came to representation.
That memory still influences how I see the marque today.
For DESIGN STUDY 016, the philosophy is restraint. Baby Pearl White across the exterior creates a clean, sophisticated foundation, while an aggressive lowered stance, strong five-spoke wheel fitment and subtle refinement strengthen the vehicle’s presence without taking away from the original body design.
The refinement continues inside with a Light Ice Grey leather interior highlighted by Louis Vuitton Monogram Eclipse canvas, Taiga cowhide leather and Monogram Antarctica coated-canvas accents. The monochromatic treatment keeps the fashion influence subtle, allowing texture and pattern to provide the contrast rather than introducing another dominant color.
The result is a different expression of the same presence that caught my attention years ago.
