2011 British Sports Coupe
California weather says convertible.
This time, I’m taking the hardtop.
This study came together with California on my mind — remembering places I’ve spent time there and imagining what I’d want to drive through them today.
I’ve experienced the California convertible experience before, behind the wheel of a rented 1993 Mustang. But if I were going back today, I’d choose something different — the same cruising spirit, wrapped in a little more enclosure, presence and refinement.
This time, I’m taking the hardtop.
A convertible might be the ultimate cruising vehicle, especially under California skies, but this coupe offers something different: the same grand-touring feeling with a little more enclosure and presence.
The styling follows that same balance. Mother Pearl White Gloss keeps the long, flowing body smooth and composed, while the adjustable air-suspension stance and one-off JECKONEDESIGN JD1R3 wheels, finished in Battleship Gray High Gloss with chrome lips and staggered fitment, give it the aggression without fighting the elegance of the original proportions.
That’s what makes this one work for me.
Hard and smooth at the same time.
Built as a grand-touring sports coupe, its combination of performance, luxury and dramatic proportions makes it feel equally appropriate making a statement or simply covering miles along the coast.
Inside, the cool-toned palette continues with Elemental Gray leather blended with Steeple Gray suede across the seats, door panels and hatch area. A Slate Gray suede-wrapped steering wheel and Midnight Black suede headliner frame the cabin, while Bright White and Slate Gray stitching subtly reconnect the interior with the Mother Pearl White exterior.
The concept is completed with a CRISPY sound system featuring six speakers, four tweeters, a bass-tube subwoofer, a single amplifier color-coded in Mother Pearl White Gloss, and a digital equalizer.
