2010 Japanese Sports Crossover
Some vehicles look ready.
Others prove they are.
I’ve owned a Subaru before, and my respect for the platform came from experience.
At the time, part of my route to my tractor-trailer assignment regularly flooded. Cars would get stuck trying to make it through. I bought a Subaru — and it carried me through that water and plenty of other conditions without the drama.
That experience stayed with me when creating DESIGN STUDY 011.
Matte Black paint, Gloss Black wheels and knobby tires establish the visual attitude, while adjustable air suspension serves a purpose beyond simply lowering the vehicle. The suspension allows it to move between a lowered street presence and its original ride height when conditions call for it.
It’s customization built around capability rather than sacrificing it.
The Outback has built its reputation around that same kind of versatility — comfortable enough for everyday driving while offering the ground clearance and all-wheel-drive capability that made it useful when the road stopped cooperating.
For me, that’s what makes this the urban survival vehicle.

Inside, that same capability-driven thinking continues. Midnight Black Carhartt Rugged Cotton Duck Flex is blended with black leather across the seats, door panels and rear cargo area, surrounded by a Midnight Black suede headliner and suede-wrapped steering wheel. Smoke Screen Gray and Bat Black stitching keep the treatment monochromatic while adding subtle definition.
The concept is completed with a CRISPY sound system featuring 11 speakers, eight tweeters, a bass-tube subwoofer, dual amplifiers color-coded in High Salute Black Matte, and a digital equalizer.
