DESIGN STUDY 012
1982 German Performance Coupe
Sometimes the car told you they had money.
The details told you just how much.
When this vehicle hit the streets, Porsche already represented another level of foreign performance and prestige. But during this era, what happened after you bought the car could make just as much of a statement.
And few additions spoke louder on the street than a set of BBS RS wheels.
They were expensive, distinctive and became one of the defining wheels of the era. Put them on a Porsche, color-coordinate the centers with the exterior, and surround it all with an exterior color that felt fresh and different at the time — and the entire presentation changed.
That’s the memory behind DESIGN STUDY 012.
The goal wasn’t to reinvent the vehicle. It was to recreate that feeling of seeing someone take an already desirable car and finish the presentation through the details.
The Porsche made the statement.
The BBS RS made it clear.
Inside, that same attention to detail continues with Elemental Gray and Steeple Gray suede across the seats, door panels and hatch area, framed by a Midnight Black suede headliner and steering wheel. Smoke Screen Gray and Maroon stitching subtly carry traces of the Deep Dark Red Gumball exterior palette into the cabin.
The concept is completed with a CRISPY sound system featuring nine speakers, six tweeters, a bass-tube subwoofer, a single amplifier color-coded in Deep Dark Red Gumball High Gloss, and a digital equalizer.
