theColorOfLOVE comes from my belief that the true color of love is sky blue.
There is a particular feeling I get from a beautiful clear blue sky, especially after a rainy day. Everything feels open again. The darkness has passed, the air feels different, and there is a sense of peace, possibility and appreciation for what is right in front of you. To me, that feeling is remarkably close to what it feels like to be in love with someone—and what it feels like knowing someone genuinely loves you.
I built the piece around that feeling. The JECK lettering sits against an explosion of sky blue and light, surrounded by hearts and subtle references to LOVE worked throughout the composition. Rather than using the traditional red to define love, the blue becomes the emotional center of the artwork.
By this point in my life, love wasn’t something I was simply thinking about or beginning to feel. I was experiencing it. theColorOfLOVE is my attempt to give that feeling a color.
Not red.
Sky blue.
