For most of my life, I followed the belief that the Trinity was the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I grew up hearing the Trinity described as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Later, I came across other interpretations describing a trinity through man, woman and child. Whether theological, symbolic or something much older, that idea made me think differently.
And at this particular point in my life, it resonated heavily.
My relationship with HER was changing the direction of my life. Love was becoming commitment, and commitment was changing the way I thought about partnership and family. She already had a child from a previous relationship, so family wasn’t some distant possibility I was imagining. In choosing her, I was also stepping into a family that was already forming around us. The idea of man, woman and child suddenly carried a meaning that felt much closer to my own life.
The composition reflects those thoughts through its repeated crosses, intersecting forms and symmetry. The crosses aren’t simply placed around the JECK ONE lettering—they move through it, connecting and overlapping as if several individual elements are becoming part of one structure.
That’s what CrossMyHeart represents for me: faith being reconsidered through love, commitment and the possibility of creating a family of my own.
