DRIVEN2STAY DRIVING was about my determination to preserve my ability to move freely while still trying to deal cordially with what I believed was an injustice.
“Stay” matters.
At the time, I was still showing up to court, paying attention to the process and trying to handle the situation within the system. I wanted to stay driving without allowing someone else’s abuse of authority to interfere with a freedom that meant much more to me than simply possessing a driver’s license.
Driving represented mobility. Independence. The ability to decide where I was going and get myself there.
The tickets threatened that freedom, but they didn’t change the way I viewed it.
My freedom to move wasn’t something I believed another man should be able to casually take from me.
So I fought to preserve it.
I was DRIVEN2STAY DRIVING.
