1996 American High Mobility Vehicle
Some vehicles were never meant to conform.
Neither was this one.
Originally engineered around capability rather than convention, its massive proportions, uncompromising shape and unmistakable presence created an identity unlike almost anything else on the street.
DESIGN STUDY 005 pushes that rebellious character further — raising the stance approximately two inches and finishing the exterior in Deep Olive Drab Matte. One-off JECKONEDESIGN JD1UR1 two-piece wheels continue the Olive Drab treatment, contrasted by high-gloss Midnight Black lips with chrome accents and fitted with all-terrain/all-season tires.
The treatment strengthens the vehicle's presence without losing the attitude that made it disruptive in the first place.
Inside, that utilitarian character becomes part of the material story. Elemental Gray Smoothed Canvas is blended with Levi's Olive Denim across the seats, door panels and rear cargo area, surrounded by an Olive Drab suede headliner and an Olive Drab suede-wrapped MOMO steering wheel. Olive, Charcoal Gray and Black stitching keeps the treatment within the same rugged, military-influenced palette.
The concept is completed with a CRISPY sound system featuring 10 speakers, 10 tweeters, dual bass-tube subwoofers, two amplifiers color-coded in Deep Olive Drab High Gloss, and a digital equalizer.
For me, this one has always represented doing things differently simply because different feels right.
